Flightradar24 – incredibly addictive way to follow all the world’s flights

Logically following on from a video time lapse of a week’s worth of flying, I heartily recommend you have  a look at Flightradar24. It’s a website that uses publicly available data to show all current flights in their live positions on Google Maps. The basic view around Heathrow looks like this, but that’s not all you can see (rest after break).

Can click on a plane and see that flight’s details.

And even a Google Earth view of what the plane can see from that altitude and position.
